Happy Friday, everyone!

Because I am slightly vain, the youngest of three and am glad it’s Friday I am going to share with you the two awards I was recently granted by two of my bloggy friends.  I must say when you start a blog one never envisions anyone actually reading said blog, let alone receiving awards signifying that people not only read your blog but also enjoy it.  (Take that insecurity!)

So, if ya’ll don’t mind I’ll share the love with you.

One of my favorite bloggers out there, Spot at What Passes for Sane on a Crazy Day has passed on the Lemonade Stand Award.

First of all, I love me a good lemonade stand.  I’m a sucker for some good pucker.  So, this award speaks to me, saying, “You’re very thirsty, Mindy.”  Thank you Spot. 

My acceptance speech:

“I”d like to thank God for blessing me with the gift of revealing entirely too much about myself.   I’d also like to thank my parents who had the forethought to feed my need for attention.  I’d like to thank my siblings, Brandy and Chris, for indulging in my whimsy because it became very obvious to you that I was destined to be somebody and I’d like to thank my husband and kids for giving me an indefinite amount of time each evening to compose this blog (and specifically to Jer for looking the other way when “blogging” consists of eating a bowl of ice cream while skimming through Glamour magazine.”

My second award was lovingly brought to me by another one of my favorites, Angelia at Living, Loving, Laughing. 

The  Best Blog Award!  I love the word “Best” as much as I love lemonde stands (third child syndrome).  Thanks, Angelia!

My acceptance speech:

“To my family: you have made many sacrifices in order for me to keep this dream alive.  Many snack times have been shortened, bath times have been hastened and couch pillows have been flattened to get me to where I am today.  I will continue to try and make you very proud.  Or, sort of proud.  Well, at least not mad at me.” 

So, basically the rules are the same.  For the Lemonade Award (why am I still thirsty?)

For the Best Blog Award:

The rules for this award require me to nominate up to 15 blogs to share in my acclaim.  (Okay, “acclaim” might be kind of grandiose but bear with me here…I’m a stay at home who gets very little recognition for the butts I wipe on a daily basis.)

Because I am a bit selective  in the blogs that I visit daily (read: I don’t hang with lame people) or, slightly more honestly (all the butt-wiping I do leaves me little time to explore the blog world in its entirety and therefore am limited to visiting a select few) I am going to combine the two awards and hand them both out to the same bloggers.   I’m also a bit of a renegade and love bucking the system (third child and all).

Each and every blog that I’m listing grants me some much needed comic relief, a dose of reality, a little bit of education, a camaraderie over shared experiences and an occasional ”Thank God I’m not the only one who drinks rum at 10:00 in the morning).

Now, for the nominees…(some who would otherwise TOTALLY deserve this award have already received it…so, I left them out.)

In conclusion, I would again like to thank Spot and Angelia for sending these awards on.  This recognition gives me a bit of a boost to do my best in sharing my experiences in life within the blogging arena.  I’ve certainly learned from both of these blogging ladies how better to do just that.
