I saw the name Ingalls and got super curious instantly! That is my maiden name!
AND yes I watched the show religously.

Those folks worked sun-up to sun-down. No rest in between. No taking an hour off at lunch time to laugh at “Wife Swap”. That just so wouldn’t work for me. Plus, I’m allergic to pretty much everything that grows, so I probably would have died within oh, three days or so.

But I love to read historical western set romances. So that’s pretty close I think.

Very entertaining post Mindy!

I like to imagine I could live that rugged life, but I think I’m like you – a little more citified now. I don’t mind getting my hands dirty, but only if I’ve got SPF 30 on. And that’s where my hopes dash to the ground. Somehow I doubt Laura Ingalls Wilder cared whether she was going to get brown spots in 20 years.

Too funny. I’m a country girl -definitely not- Laura Ingalls but growing up country was something. My daughter? No way in heck. She scoffs at the open country and hates bugs.

No prairie girl here either. My idea of “roughing it” is no room service. I sure as hell dont camp out in places where the animals can eat you, who am I kidding I dont camp out at all. I think I am camping when the electricity goes out.

1. A queen sized bed with duvet and down pillows
2. A mini-bar (even if we never actually buy the $9 M&M’s)
3. A shower. With running water. Hot AND cold running water
4. Room service
5. Cable TV AND Wi-Fi

We don’t go. But once all those amenities are confirmed, I’m happy to “rough it.”

So prarie-life, maybe not so much for me either.
